WALL PARK IN BRIXHAM

Full tour and review of the Wall Park Centry Road Touring and camp site in Brixham, Devon.

If you want the ideal base camp in Torbay, then you will not go far wrong with this beautiful little caravan and camp site. With extremely clean facilitates and a great little burger/breakfast van onsite, this is ideal for all those wanting a quiet stay in beautiful Brixham, AKA Fishtown.

We enjoyed a full week here in April 22, and although it was quite cold, it was Easter half term and we were expecting a few people to be here, but it was actually still quite quiet – Probably too cold for most campers, but the caravans and the camper vans were aplenty. On this great little park, you will find the hosts directing you to your pitch and give you quick tour of all their spotless toilets, washrooms and showers – of which there are plenty, all cleaned on a regular basis each day. There is a small pay area for children aged about 6-10, but please note, they do not encourage football on the field, which can be a bit put offing for families with children who do like to let them run around freely in the evenings.

We believe that this is really a base camp as opposed to a full-on campsite. It does have the great breakfast van though which is open most evening supplying great breakfast burgers and rolls and in the evenings, it had great curries and spaghetti meals on, all for bargain prices of about £4. The actual harbour of Brixham is about 15 minutes’ walk, easy to get to as downhill, not so great coming back, but still, it is gives you a great opportunity to burn of the breakfast calories. There is a shop within 5-minute walk and the local swimming pool is also just around the corner, so if you do have kids and weather is not on your side, you can always pop in there.

The location of the site is also ideal to visit the whole of Torbay. Paignton and Torquay are about 15-20 minutes’ drive and you also have the great woodlands park, and stunning Dartmouth all within 30 minutes. Then there is the beautiful Berry Head, about 10 minutes’ walk from the park, or 5 minutes’ drive for those that do not want the additional exercise. With Brixham itself being the location of lots of pubs, restaurants and fish and chip shops, you will never be far from a well-earned pitstop or stunning walk. A really great located park, which although a bit quiet for us as a family, the surrounding attractions keep us very well occupied for a full 7 days.
