We try out the Wolfwise Pop up Beach Tent. Is this the best beach tent available?
Join us we we travel across some of the best beaches in the UK and test the Wolfwise tent over 3 days. We tell you if it is worth investing in a beach tent or whether you should just save your money. Is this tent better than the others on the market? My husband Scott was never a tent fan, let alone a beach tent fan, can this tent change his mind?
First off we take it to stunning Kynance Cove, one of the most photographed beaches in the UK, renowned for its beauty.
To start off with this was a long steep walk to get to the beach, but we can tell you that the Wolfwise Pop up Beach tent was so light that it was not a burden to take down to the beach – So that was Great Point Number 1.
Great Point Number 2. When we arrive at the beach we had the initial setting up or pitching. Scott does not have a good history with tents so this was left to me. And Wow! As soon as the elastic is removed it takes shape in lass than a second (and that is not an exaggeration). Securing it to the ground is simple as it has 2 bags on either side that you can fill with sand. This immediately made it secure. It also comes with pegs and guy lines that can be used to give it that extra rigidity.
Great Point Number 3. It has zips at the back allowing you to have the tent fully open if you want to have the shade but still get the cool breeze.
Great Point Number 4. So within 2 minutes we had it pitched and secure. We planted all our gear in the tent and then enjoyed the day. You will see that when it is zipped up at the front and back this tent is very secure and gives you a great sense of security, knowing that your belongings such as phones and wallets are not in danger of being lost or stolen.
Great Point Number 5. Want to get changed on the beach? Then this is perfect. No more putting a towel around your waist and trying the waist and knee shuffle to get in and out of your clothes.
Great Point Number 6. This WolfWise pop up beach tent is not just simple shelter and place to store things. It actually gives you great sun protection – Much to Scott’s delight, with a UPF of 50+. In addition although not completely waterproof, it will protect you from the odd gentle shower.
Great Point Number 7. This great little tent gives you great visibility even when sat inside due to it having side windows – With fly mesh!. You will see when we filmed from inside it allows you to watch everything that is going on around you and keep an eye on your kids.
Great Point Number 8. Putting the tent away! It took 2 minutes to put up and it only takes 2 minutes to put down and pack away. Although it was me that had to do it, as Scott was still a bit sceptical about the whole Beach tent thing. Now, saying all the above were great points and I think I nearly convinced Scott that it was a great buy, but like a normal man, he always finds something negative! And in this instance, it was just the size. This tent comes with the following dimensions when pitched – 59.06″ L x 59.06″ W x 49.21″ H with a 39.37” front porch, and will fit 2 – 3 people. But we are a family of 4. So he did say it may not be practical for us….
So that was day 1 of our beach tent and I think I had almost convinced Scott it was a good purchase, but as he was still slightly doubtful, we took it out again. Another day, another beach, this time Praa Sands. Another spectacular beach that is great for bodyboarding in Cornwall. Straight away Scott was not too fussed about taking it due to the fact it was so light. It actually weighs in the region of 3 – 4lbs and can be carried on your back with ease
Good Point Number 9. Again we found this tent a great plus to have as we were able to store all our stuff away without fear of it being lost or even getting blown away.
Amazing Point Number 10. Then finally it was day 3. This time we took the WolfWise to the Stunning Perranporth beach. It was windy and we saw the other people struggling to get their tents pitched. Uh Oh..But, at last after watching me put it up the days before, Scott felt that even he could do pitch it and in the wind.. And he did, all in less than a couple of seconds! So if Scott can do it anyone can!
At the end of our 3 days test, Scott concluded that yep, the WolfWise pop up beach tent is must for every beach day out – In fact he is actually ordering a bigger one soon.
